The causes are varied - motor vehicle collisions, strokes, falls, physical assaults. While broken bones and other trauma-related injuries are readily apparent and treatable, a person suffering from an injured brain requires specialized, multi-dimensional therapy and intensive rehabilitation.

Consequences of a brain injury can include memory loss, speech problems, difficulties with attention and concentration skills and behavioral changes. These can be long-term challenges that require months and even years of intensive rehabilitation support.

Most individuals suffering from a serious brain injury can benefit from rehabilitative, vocational retaining and support programs.
